Jole Laguda is a dedicated coach and educator who brings a rich, global perspective to our jiu-jitsu community. Having lived in Nigeria, Chile, Ecuador, Taiwan, and the United States, Jole is a true polyglot and abolitionist committed to fostering an inclusive environment. They believe in the power of learning and growing together as a collective, ensuring every student feels a deep sense of belonging. Their background as a K-8 licensed educator informs a teaching style that is patient, adaptable, and community-focused. Jole’s diverse life experiences allow them to connect with people from all walks of life on and off the mats.

Jole’s professional expertise is anchored by an impressive academic background and a suite of specialized certifications. They hold a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on bilingual studies, having attended both National Louis University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As a certified Spanish bilingual professional, Jole is also proficient in several other languages, including Yoruba and Mandarin. Their commitment to safety and instruction is further evidenced by their K-8 teaching license and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Additionally, Jole’s experience as a lifeguard adds a layer of vigilance and care to their role as a coach.
