Southside Jiu Jitsu helped me get back on track! I joined the 6-week bootcamp and reached my goal of losing 12 lbs. The guidance, meal plan, and supplement plan, were excellent and tailored to my needs. I’ve struggled with weight loss for a few years now and this bootcamp helped me break a plateau. The coaches are supportive and extremely knowledgeable on all things fitness and jiu jitsu. The people I trained with were always friendly and welcoming. This training facility is run like a family and I greatly appreciate that. If you want to try something different and get fit while having fun and learning how to use your body in different ways Southside Jiu Jitsu is a great place to do so!

This place has been a lot of fun. Took a few classes and every time I show up I learn something new. I feel like I have a better understanding of how to move my body and noticeably less stressed. The people have been incredibly supportive and welcoming. The coaches are knowledgeable considerate and the fact that they enjoy and really care about what they do comes through every moment of the class. Its been amazing and I highly recommend anyone to give it a shot and see if this is for them. I can't wait for the next class and see how far I can go. If you're trying to grow in either physical fitness, want a fun hobby to learn, want more confidence or just a place to go get away from the stresses of daily life. Then I do suggest giving this place a try.

I’m really loving my time at South Side Jiu Jitsu. Big shout out to Professor Solomon for introducing such a great contribution to the area. Having such skilled, knowledgeable instructors in the neighborhood is a huge plus, and they’re also super friendly and easy to learn from. The gym is always clean, the energy is welcoming, and the culture really feels like a community—not just a place to train. Highly recommend checking it out.

Southside Jiu Jitsu club is a wonderful addition to the Woodlawn community! Coach Solo offers programs for both beginner and experienced grapplers/jiu jitsu practitioners. The level of instruction is top notch and there are many options for weekday and weekend classes to fit your schedule. 10/10 recommend if you’re new and curious about martial arts or have experience and looking for a serious gym that offers a variety of classes to fit your training style.

For sure recommend. They have lots of choices for class times with different instructors so you can find the best type of class for yourself and schedule. My kids also go too, and they even host parent night out events. For women, they offer several women only classes as well! It is beginner friendly but plenty of more advanced/intense classes- best well rounded gym that fits basically anyone. Shoutout to great instructors like Amber and Nick!

I dropped in for one class at Southside Jiu Jitsu and had a great experience. Nick was a fantastic instructor. He was welcoming, clear, and very supportive. Everyone at every belt level was super friendly and did an awesome job breaking things down to my level, which made it easy to learn and feel comfortable right away. Really positive community overall, and I’d definitely come back!

I attended a women’s only Jiu Jitsu class and absolutely loved it! It is extremely beginner friendly but still provides a challenging workout that allows room for improvement! I felt extremely comfortable with the instructor and in the class in general, I highly recommend Southside Jiu Jitsu Club for all levels and all people!

All the coaches are great amazing teachers, very knowledgeable and patient with students. They truly help motivate one to reach their goals especially Coach Solomon whom will walk you step by step on what your goals are and how they can help you achieve them whether it's through dieting/meal prepping or fitness training. And tying it all together on the mat, one couldn't ask for a better experience as a beginner. Things will only get better the more effort you pour into yourself and all the coaches are there to support and encourage students as individuals and a team. I would recommend Southside Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to begin their Jiu Jitsu journey or even people with experience. Incredibly welcoming and friendly environment and great people.

About a month ago, I decided I wanted to take my fitness to another level by finding a studio to join. I searched Pilates, cycling, yoga, lagree and just couldn’t find a fit. I found Southside Jiu Jitsu and thought to myself “this is crazy”. After one visit, I convinced my husband to join me. It’s such a warm environment where I can just be a student. I can come in and leave the world behind. Women’s night was a game changer for me. The instructor was so informative and patient. I’m very happy that I stepped outside my comfort zone to learn something new.
