Rebeca Carrillo (Beca) is a Purple Belt under Taylor Biagi and a dedicated instructor at Southside Jiu Jitsu Club, where she is recognized for her thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to teaching and her focus on competition readiness. As the founder of the UChicago Grappling Club, Beca has helped cultivate a supportive and technically driven community for martial artists of all backgrounds. A dual citizen fluent in Spanish and English, she brings a diverse perspective to her coaching and continues to compete actively while advocating for the growth of women’s jiu jitsu.

Beca holds a BA in Public Policy with a specialization in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and is certified in CPR. Combining her analytical background with her martial arts experience, she explores computational models of jiu jitsu and data-driven approaches to training. In addition to coaching Jiu Jitsu, she works as a software engineer and tech consultant, contributing to projects related to data warehousing and performance analysis. Her professional affiliations include Taylor Biagi BJJ and Leopard.fyi, where she applies both her technical and martial expertise to advance the art and science of grappling.
