Solomon Dixon (Solo), the Founder and Head Instructor of South Side Jiu Jitsu Club, is a true testament to the transformative power of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He sees BJJ as a catalyst for change - fostering stronger, safer, and more connected communities. Residing in Woodlawn, Chicago, with his wife Ellie and their three young children, Solo’s commitment to Jiu Jitsu, community engagement, and social impact is a way of life, extending beyond the mat.

Solomon serves as the Head Instructor and Founder, bringing nearly 15 years of martial arts experience to SJJC. He holds a prestigious 4th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Adem Redzovic and maintains an amateur MMA record of 2-0. Beyond his martial arts achievements, Solo possesses a strong commitment to education and leadership, evidenced by his academic credentials, including an MA TESOL and an MBA with honors from One League.
